D’Oyly Carte Opera Company
The D’Oyly Carte Opera Company presents Gilbert and Sullivan A La Carte at the Wolverhampton Grand theatre on 26 Nov at 7.30. The 125th anniversary of the Grand is celebrated by a concert from five D’Oyly Carte principals and full orchestra, singing excerpts from ten operas, including Utopia Limited, with which a touring D’Oyly Carte company opened the theatre in 1894

Sasha Regan’s all-male H.M.S.Pinafore is being revived 15 April until 9 May at Wilton’s Music Hall, London. The production will then tour to the Theatre Royal, Bath 12-16 May; Theatre Royal, Winchester 1-6 June; Arts Theatre, Cambridge 8-13 June; and Northcott Theatre, Exeter 22-24 June.

Gilbert & Sullivan Festival 2020
The 27th international Gilbert and Sullivan Festival will take place in Buxton from 1-8 August, and in Harrogate from 9-23 August. The National Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company will present new productions of The Sorcerer, H.M.S. Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance, Patience and The Emerald Isle. The production of The Emerald Isle will follow the model of 2018’s Haddon Hall, with professional soloists and orchestra plus an elite amateur chorus.
Opera Holland Park
Described as ‘the master of G&S in small spaces’, Charles Court Opera joins forces with Opera Holland Park, the Opera Holland Park Chorus and City of London Sinfonia in a production of WS Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan’s comedy, The Pirates of Penzance, directed by John Savournin. Savournin’s recent directing credits include Trial by Jury for Opera North. Running 4-8 August, The Pirates of Penzance will be the first production of a G&S operetta at Holland Park for twenty years.
