Vocal score

A new edition based on a manuscript copy of Sullivan’s autograph; edited by Colin Jagger.

This vocal score incorporates all the dialogue and stage directions, and, in addition to correcting the voice parts, the generally good piano part by George Lowell Tracy (1855-1921), has had errors corrected and made to more closely match the orchestration. The score is also available from Amazon.co.uk).

A full score matching the vocal score is available from Amazon.co.uk. The edition has been edited from Sullivan’s autograph manuscript and the first editions of the vocal score and libretto. It presents some music which was cut by G&S, and makes it possible to perform two songs in the order originally conceived for them, as well as including a commentary.

For those with limited space and/or resources, there is a reduced orchestration for a minimum of ten players. The orchestral materials are available from: cjagger99@gmail.com
