The tune ‘Holy City’ was first used to set the words of’ ‘Sing Alleluia forth in duteous praise’ and published in Church Hymns with Tunes; ed. by Arthur Sullivan (S.P.C.K., 1874). This copy of ‘Ye powers who stand before the Eternal Light’ is from the 1901 reprint of Church Hymns with Tunes.
