An entirely new and original aesthetic opera in two acts to a libretto by W. S. Gilbert. First performed at the Bijou Theatre, Paignton 30 December 1879 and at the Fifth Avenue Theatre, New York 31 December 1879. The first London performance took place at the Opera Comique 3 April 1880.
