Become a Member

There are different ways of joining the Society. The preferred and easiest way to become a members is to pay by direct debit.

Payment by Direct Debit

Use the links below to open an account. Direct debit payments are processed on behalf of the Society by GoCardless. Your first payment will take around five to ten working days to process and your membership welcome pack will be sent after your first payment is received. You will receive an automatic reminder when you are due to renew.

Alternative ways to join

Alternatively you can join the Society by using the  online application form or by downloading a postal application form. Once you submit the form your membership details will be processed and an invoice emailed to you. You will be able to pay this invoice directly by

  • Standing Order. If you have a UK bank account, and wish to avoid unintentional resignation, you can pay by setting up an annual standing order. Details are available on request from the Membership Secretary.
  • PayPal recurring subscriptions require a PayPal account. Please ensure that PayPal has your up-to-date payment information.
  • Credit or debit card payments can be used to make a one-off payment for a year. We use PayPal to process payments. You do not need a Paypal account to be able to pay online.
  • Bank transfer for overseas payments. Our IBAN details are GB92BUKB20740590849987.

Digital and Under 30s Membership

You can also join the Society at a reduced rate of £15 if you are happy not to receive a physical printed copy of the Society’s magazine. Instead, we will email you a pdf copy each time a new issue is available. Note Digital only members will not receive a physical welcome pack. This option avoids the high cost of international postage and may suit members outside the UK. Join now

Under 30s may join the Society for free by agreeing to receive a pdf copy of the Society’s magazine instead of posting you a physical copy. We will email you each time a new issue is available. Please note that you will not receive a physical welcome pack. Join now

Further Information

Your membership of the Society runs for 12 months from the date of joining. UK taxpayers may also enhance the value of their subscription to the Society at no extra cost by completing the online Gift Aid declaration in My Account or by requesting a form from the Membership Secretary.

Renewals

Your membership runs for 12 months from the date of joining the Society. You will receive a reminder when you are due to renew from GoCardless if paying by direct debit.

A reminder will be sent by the Membership Secretary if paying by other means. Our preferred method of payment is by direct debit and and your renewal reminder will explain how to set this up. Alternatively, renewals can be made by either completing the online renewal form or printing out the postal renewal form and sending it to the Membership Secretary, Sir Arthur Sullivan Society, 165 Links Road, London SW17 9EP. Once you submit the form your membership details will be processed and a Paypal invoice emailed to you. You will be able to pay this invoice directly with your debit/credit card or by Paypal.

If you do not renew within a reasonable time we will assume you have resigned your membership and you will receive no further mailings. Your details will be deleted after termination of your membership in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
